Every time I check the mail there is a present waiting! Most recently from the marvelous Muffy, with a pre-op postmark. The fact that she took time to locate and dispatch a gift while waiting to check into the hospital is simply astonishing. What is it? A tea towel with intricate scenes of my beloved home state.... aww!

The note attached included the line Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.... or something!

Oh, definitely! The Royal Mail strike means the hilarious present I sent that will make her belly laugh enough to endanger the stitches is winding slowly in that direction and will not be delivered on time, so whatever should I do to amuse her in the gap? I know! I'll write up one of my top secret tales of love and vengeance.... more on that shortly!
